PAHIATUA, Nov. 7
The Pahiatua Anglers Club is conducting a series of three competitions for trophies, the first to bo fished olt scratch anil the remaining two on handicap. The first of these resulted as follows: S. W. Matthews G, A. Morgan 3 W. Harley 3, J. Hutton 1. Others who did not weigh in included JJ. Parkes 10 and P J. Matthews 6. The former’s catch was taken irom the lower reaches of the Makuri and weighed 221bs. This is the heaviest bag so far reported this season. Mr and Mrs A. Ross left to-day to spend several weeks at Paraparaumu. Mr B. AVills and Miss M. Wills have left on a trip to Napier, Gisborne and Rotorua. Miss Ella Wilson is an inmate of the Hospital, where she is making satisfactory xirogrcss after an operation. Mrs O. Walker, Mangahao, and Miss Eutli White are spending an extensive holiday in the South Island. They have motored from .Pieton to Christchurch, -where they are visiting mlatives- tie] friauds..
