LAWN TENNIS.
The annual general meeting of the tennis section of the Northern Bowling, Croquet, and Tennis Club was held on Monday evening, when there was a large gathering in the pavilion. It was decided that, following last year’s period of withdrawal, the club again enter the Manawatu Lawn Tennis Association’s competition. Officers were elected as follow :—Captain, Mr E. It. Harris; secretary, Miss B. Horn ; committee, Mrs Newton Smith, Mrs W. Lindsay, Miss Joan Mcßae, Messrs R. C. French, D. McMurray, and J. H. "Walker. It was decided that, weather permitting, the club open its season on October 6.
