STUDENTS’ JOKE.
FOUNDATION STONE REMOVED. The fbinidation-stqne of the new wing of Melbourne' Trinity College, which was laid recently by Archbishop Head, disappeared prior to the ceremony from a locked room at the college. AATien its absence was discovered a search covering most of the university grounds was made. Later an anonymous message reached the warden of Trinity College (Dr J. C. V. Behan), informing him that the stone was buried under the dais temporarily erected for the ceremony. When dug up the stone was found to be damaged slightly, but it was polished and was laid by Archbishop Head. !It is believed tlia the stone was removed as a “rag” by undergraduates.
