GREATER INQUIRY
BUTTER IN LONDON. CHEESE ALSO STEADIER. ADVANCE IN PRICES. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received May 4, 9.35 a.m. LONDON, May 3, A greater inquiry for butter is being evinced in London this week and prices are firmer. The following are the ruling prioes, the last cabled quotations being given in parentheses:— Danish 80s (80s). Choicest salted, New Zealand, 73s to 74s (71s) ; Australian, 72s (69s to 70s). Unsalted, New Zealand, 73s to 74s (Is premium) ; Australian, 72s (70s to 71s). A steadier tone is also discernible in the cheese market. New Zealand, white, 43s (42s 6d) : coloured, 42s 6d (same). Australian, coloured, 41s (40s to 41s).
