The union was waited upon by the secretary of the Paraparaumu Club (Mi- D. M. Ryan). The player in question was also present and stated that he did not wish tho transfer. The union took no action. In the case of N. Doggett, who has received a business transfer, permission was granted to transfer from Foxton Fire Brigade to Shannon. The Foxton Club wrote protesting against the win recorded by Shannon against them in the junior game on Saturday, on the grounds that the latter club played two members, Roach and Booker, both of whom had played more than two senior games, and were thus ineligible for junior matches. The protest was upheld and Foxton were awarded the match. A copy of the minutes of the annual general meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Football Union and a cir-

cular from that body were read With regard to Maori football the playing of the Prince of Walf.fJuP in particular, the circular urged thata better method of selection of the team* be evolved. Upon the suggestion it was decided to first hold a conference with those unions who have a large number of Maori plavers within their jurisdiction. The N.Z. Rugby Union decided that the matter of the Prince of Wales Cup match and the proposed Maori tour of the South Island be -referred back to the management committee. , , It was decided to forward the names of Messrs P. McKay and W. Neville as referees to officiate in interprovincial matches. . , . Mr Casey gave notice, .“That this union’s contributions to primary school football this year be a football to each school and grants to committees organising competitions on the basis or £1 per team, provided that the combined contributions of the Horowhenua Rugby Union and the N.Z. Rugoy Union exceed the contribution of the N.Z. Rugby Union by five pound?.
