OROUA DOWNS.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) OROUA DOWNS, April 17. Tho annual meeting of the Oroua Downs School was held on Monday evening, there being very few present. Mr Hobbs was voted to tho chair. Votes of thanks were passed to Messrs E. Christensen and Bird Bros, and all others who helped with transport of children to sports, etc. Mr Hobbs also spoke. eulogistically of Miss Freeman, the second assistant of the school, who is leaivng in the near future. Mr Bennett (headmaster) thanked the committee and parents for help and 00-opera-tion throughout the year, and also spoke well of the work carried out by Miss freeman. The following were elected to the committee: Messrs A. Hobbs, L. Hunter, A Thomson, W. Marchant and Mrs Hobbs. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr W. Caithness, who has been secretary to the committee for several years, and also to Mr E. Thompson, a past member of the committee.
