PAHIATUA.
PAHIATUA, April 17. There was a large attendance last evening for the annual meeting of the Bush Basketball Association. Nearly thirty girls attended, comprising delegates (two for each team) and ordinary club members. The president (Mrs L. T. Russell) occupied the chair. The report submitted by the secretary (Mr L. Gleeson) on behalf of the committee stated: “The funds of the association were raised from £lO 17s 2d to £2l 15s 2d by the end of the season, thus making a nett profit of £lO 18s. ]&ances to entertain visiting teams were responsible for £6 14s. Expenditure was kept to a minimum and all things considered the association ha'd a very successful season financially.” Tlie balance-sheet showed a credit of £2l 15s 2d. Officers were elected as under: —Pn.tron, Mr G. H. Smith; president, Mrs L. T. Russell; to last year’s list of vice-president the names o£, Mesdames B. H. Wills, W. J. Mills and G. Jones were added; secretary and treasurer, Mr L. Gleeson; management and social committee, Misses Denise, Mahoney. Lexie Brown, Phyllis Mills, Edna O’Brien, Molly Smith, Ngaire Graha.m, Mary Gunn, Molly Rutherford and Colleen Boyd; auditor, Mr P. R. Boagey; sole representative s-elector, Mrs L. T. Ivussell. . ~ ' At the monthly meeting of the fet. Paul’s Ladies’ Guild there was a good attendance. Mrs K. L. Warren presided. A vote of thanks was passed to Mrs Macdonald in her bereavement. Arrangements were made for the coming bazaar. The hostesses, Mrs East and Mrs Warren, served afternoon tea.
