MANAWATU CLUB. There was a big entry for the medal handicap of the Manawatu Golf Club on Saturday. The fairways and greens were fast and in good order. The three best scores were returned by J. V. Stevens (78—9 —69) A. E. R. Joblin (81—10—71) and J. F. Field (81—10 —7l). In the B grade, for those players having a handicap of 15 or over, J. B. Banks headed the list with a score of 87 —18 —69. W. H. Hall was next with 92 —22—70. The best cards handed in were as follow:

At the week-end a number of good rounds were played. C. Louisson, president of the club, returned an 80, while T. Louisson, playing in a fourball, brought back a card showing bis outward score as 37 and his inward score 38, a total of 75 for the round. L. Seifert, junr., holder of the Manawatu open and club championship titles, who was to leave for Wellington to-day, is joining the Miramar Club, but will remain a country member of the Manawatu Club. PLAY AT TE MATAI.
Seven cards showing net totals of less than 70 were handed in at the Palmerston North Golf Club’s competition on Saturday. The course was in excellent order and the fairways very fast. G.
