Entries are coming’ in fast for the cycling meeting at the Showgrounds next Wednesday. Tho entries for tho professional, events number 22, and the amateur entries aro reported to bo even larger. A challenge has been received from the Hastings Club to a raco on tandem cycles, and this lias boon accepted by the local professional club. Both tandems will bo ridden by a lady and a gentleman and Mr B. Mcßrearty and his sister will bo tho local representatives. Seven veterans have entered for tho old-timers’ raco. The obstacle raco .on cycles will prove a very stiff ride. Besides hurdles there will bo a sce-saw to bo negotiated by the riders and any competitor to. go through this raco without a spill will bo very fortunate.
