The Government has created, under an electrical engineer, Herr Philip Kessler, Herr Hitler’s industrial adviser, an organisation controlling twelve trade groups into which industry is being divided. A solicitor, Count Von Der Glotz, is Herr Kessler’s deputy.

Herr Krupp Von Bohlen, president of the German Industrial League, lias been appointed leader of. the mining group, and Herr Blohm, of Blohm and Voss, head of the machinery and electrical industry. An industrialist, Herr Vogler, controls the building and glass industry group. Banking, insurance, transport, chemicals, foodstuffs iron and metal also form groups. All firms belonging to the groups must submit to the group orders under a Court of Honour, regarding legitimate competition.

PROTECTIVE CUSTODY SYSTEM

(Times Cables.) LONDON, March 13. The Berlin correspondent of the Times states that General Goering has modified the system of protective custody, restricting the number of officials empowered to order arrests and decreeing that a person must be brought before a judge within 24 hours and liberated within eight days unless remanded, unless General Goering explicitly orders further detention. There will be a similar procedure with political arrests.
