VERDICT OP SUICIDE. Per Press Association. HAWERA, Dec. 1. A verdict of suicide wlnle in a depressed state of mind caused by sickness' and worry was returned at the inquest on James Madge Westaway, a draper, of Hawera, who was found dead at the foot of a cliff close to ltawhitiroa Road, Eltliam, on November 22 with a bullet wound in the roof of his mouth and a revolver beside his body. Medical opinion was that suffering and ill-health, added to worry following a recent fire at deceased’s business .premises, was ample cause of temporary derangement of the mind. BCALDED BY TEA. HAWEIIA, Dec. 1. Tire Coroner returned a verdict today that Joyce Isabel Collins. aged 2£, daughter of Mr John Collins, of Awatuna, died of convulsions following severe burns. At her home on Tuesday the child was scalded. When climbing on to a table she knocked over a pot of hot tea, which upset over her. She died in the Hawera Hospital yesterday.
