TOMS—STENBERG.
The marriage was celebrated recently, at the Oroua Hall, of Elsie Dorothy, second daughter of Mr and Mrs A. Stenberg, of Manapouri Crescent, Palmerston North, to Harold, youngest son of Mr and Mrs G. Toms, Russell Street. The hall, which lrad been tastefully decorated by girl friends of the bride, was crowded with wellwishers, and as the bride, who was escorted by her father, entered the scene presented was a pleasing picture. The bride looked charming in a long frock of white satin with shoes and stockings to match. She also wore a beautiful embroidered veil held in place by. a wreath of orange blossom. She also carried a bouquet of white stocks and azaleas. She was attended by her youngest sister, Miss
Maud Stenberg, who was very prettily attired in a frock of cornflower blue satin, with beige hat, gloves and shoes to tone, carrying a dainty bouquet of blue irises, bluebells, and fern. Miss Haselden played the “Wedding March.” The bridegroom was supported by Mr Ron Hewitson as best man. Mr Carswell, of Wanganui, officiated at the ceremony, and also presided later at a reception which was held at Messrs Collinson and Cunningliame’s rooms, where the bride and bridegroom were the recipients of many expressions of goodwill and for their future happiness, besides receiving much tangible evidence of the high esteem in which they are held in the form of many valuable and useful presents. Later in the afternoon the happy couple left by car on their honeymoon. The bride wore a coat frock of dove grey with hat and shoes to match.
