D UNFORD—GRAMMER.
A picturesque wedding, of particular interest to Bainesse _ residents _ was celebrated recently ,in that district, when Miss Avis Lavina, the eldest daughter of Mr T. Grammer, of Bainesse, and the late Mrs Grammer, was married to Mr Charles Ronald, the eldest son of Mr and Mrs R. Dunford, also of Bainesse. Rev. H. S. Kenney, of Foxon, was the officiating clergyman. Ivory martele was the material chosen for the lovely bridal gown which was cut on attractive slimly-fit-ting lines; the sleeves, fully puffed at the elbow, fitted tightly at the wrist, and the skirt flared gracefully to the bride’s white shoes. The long, exquisitely embroidered veil formed a slight train and was caught to the head with sprays of orange blossom. Two bridesmaids were in attendance on the dainty bride—Miss Selina Grammer (chief bridesmaid) and Miss Rlioda Grammer, sisters of the bride. Their sweet frocks, in tones of pink and blue floral mousme respectively, were fashioned with slightly flared skirts, long tight-fitting sleeves quaintly ruclied at the shoulder. Smart shoulder capes were worn, with shoes and hats en suite, and they carried dainty flower posies. The duties of best man were entrusted to Mr Jack Dunford, and Mr Ivan Dunford was the groomsman. All the bouquets carried at the wedding were kindly made by Mrs Ollivor, of Oroua Downs. A reception was subsequently held at the bride’s home. The guests were received by Mrs Carr, who was smartly gowned in grey floral silk, with which she wore a hat to tone. Mrs Dunford, the bridegroom’s mother, wore a becoming dress of Burgundy-coloured crinkle crepe with hat to match. The breakfast tables were beautifully decorated, the three tiered wedding cake, which had been made by Mrs J. Carr, of Rangiwahia, commanding pride of place. AVlien the young couple later left by car on a tour of the north, the bride appeared for travel in a charming frock of grey crinkle crepe, with which was worn a hat to tone, and she carried a neatly tailored black coat. A party was later held at the homestead, wliero a most enjoyable evening was spent by some, fifty guests in games and dancing.
