GIFT EVENING.
Miss L. de Rosa, whose marriage takes place shortly in Wellington, was tendered a farewell party, at the residence of her sister, Mrs H. E. Fairey, 132 Grey Street, on Saturday evening. The guests, numbering thirty, each brought the bride-elect a suitable gift for the future home. Games and dancing were indulged in. Items were rendered by Miss Joan Thompson (elocutionary), Messrs H. E. Fairey, S. AV. Jones (songs), and S. J. Harvey, of Foxton (musical monologues). The evening was brought to a conclusion with the expression of best wishes to Miss de Rosa and the singing of “Auld Lang Syne.”
