The many friends of. Mrs L. A. Abraham will he pleased to learn that she is making good progress towards recovery. Miss L. Tilson, of Palmerston North, is visiting Mrs F. C. Ebbett, Makomako. Misses Ella Donald and Nora MacKay, Masterton, are visiting Palmerston North for the Show. An exchange announces the engagement of Ivy Maude, second daughter of Mrs and the late Mr J. F. Kraft, of Wellington, to Donald George, only son of Rev. and Mrs D. Mclvor, of Marton. Miss M. Lambie, Wellington, Director. of tlio Division of Nursing, arrived in Lyttelton yesterday by the Maui Pomare on her return from Apia, Samoa, where she has been in charge of the hospital for the last two months. The engagement is announced in an exchange of Kit, third daughter of Mr and Mrs J. D. Ormond, Wallingford, Waipukurau, to Algy, eldest son of Hon. Mr and Mrs Algernon Borthwick, Woodeote Plouse, Woodcote, Oxon, England. Miss Nellie Franklin, of Auckland, was a passenger to New Zealand by the Monowai. She is now Sister Mary Fidelis, of the Third Order of Mary, and went to Lyons three years ago for a special training, as she is going to Mokogai, the leper islands. She is the first New Zealand girl to take up this work.
