ARRIVAL AT SYDNEY.
MR ULM WELCOMED. SYDNEY, Oct. 29. Mr Ulm and his companions, in the monoplane Faith in Australia, landed at Mascot on Saturday at 3.10 p.m. from Broken Hill. A good crowd was present to greet them, including Sir Charles Kingsford Smith who was the first to shake hands’with his old flying companion. Mr Ulm said: “We are very glad to be home again. We had no idea of record-breaking when we left England, but merely wished to demonstrate the manner in which the England-Aus. tralia mail rout© can be flown.” TRIP TO DOMINION. Received October 30, 10.25 a.m. SYDNEY, Oct. 30. Mr Ulm has iterated his intention of flying to New Zealand in the Faith in Australia and is leaving in a few weeks. He is to . undertake a programme of flights in the Dominion and also intends competing in the Melbourne centenary air race. FIRST AERIAL TAXI. ARRIVAL OF M.P.’s. Received October 30, 10.25 a.m. BRISBANE, Oct. 30. The monoplane “Faithful City” with Lord Apsley and Mr W. Crawford Greene, members of the House of Commons, as passengers, lias arrived, completing the first aerial taxi trip from London in an actual flying time of 110 hours.
