AUSTRALIAN NAVY.
THE NEW OFFICER. Received October 28, 1.40 p.m. LONDON, Oct. 27. Rear-Admiral Ford, who has been appointed to the Australian Squadron, formerly commanded the Navigation School at Portsmouth. During the war he was successively navigator, of the Swiftsure, ' Glorious and Valiant, and was promoted to captain in 1920. He held various sea commands and then became director of physical training sports and captain in charge at Harwich. He commanded the Koval Oak in 1929-30.
