WEDDING.

PETRItICK-WATTS. A pretty wedding took place on Monday, October 23, at the Cuba Street Alethodist Church, when Alary Caroline, the eldest daughter of Airs A. Watts, and the late Air C... W. Watts, of 64 Chehvood Street, was married to Stanley Huia, third son of Air and Airs A. J. Petlirick, of Spencer Road, Napier. The ceremony at which there was a large attendance of friends and well-wishers, was performed by ltev. N. Smith, of Woodville, a cousin of the bridegroom. Attired in a silver grey satin beautc gown of ankle length, cut beautifully on tailored lines, and with insets of red let into puff sleeves, the bride made a figure as she entered the church accompanied by her uncle, Mr R. T. Watts, of Hastings. Her toilette was completed with a grey Pedaline hat and her shoes were worn to tone. She carried a sweet sheaf bouquet of red tulips. Aliss Frances Watts, younger sister of the bride, made a dainty bridesmaid. She was most becomingly attired in an ankle-length red Phantom frock, trimmed with grey, having cowl sleeves, and finished in tailored style. Her shoes and gloves were to tone, and her sheaf bouquet was of red rhododendrons, roses and antirrhinums. The duties of host man 'were carried out by Mr Ray Carleton, of Wellington. The bride’s mother wore a wine-col-oured crinkle crepe frock trimmed with beige lace, and hat to match, and carried a neat posy of double lilac and mignonette. The bridegroom’s mother wore a frock of floral crepe-de-chine, with black hat, and carried a. bright posy. During tlie signing of the marriage register "Airs E. McDonald sang “Come Unto-Him” (from “The Messiah”). Subsequently, a reception, at which Air E. R. Chapman presided, was held, the tables being most pleasingly decorated in a colour scheme of red and grey. Over sixty guests were received, by Airs Watts and Mrs Petlirick. The large three-tier wedding cake was made by the bride’s mother. Later, the happy couple, who will make their future home in Dannevirke, left by motor car for the south. The bride’s travelling coat was of a smart diagonally striped grey, with hat and shoes to match. They were farewelled to the skirl of bagpipes played by Air R. T. AVatts. Subsequently many friends were entertained at the home of the bride’s mother in Chehvood Street. Beautiful gifts, including some handsome cheques, and a presentation from the Dannevirke branch of the Wairnrapa Farmers’ Co-operative Association, of which they were staff members, were received by tlie couple. The bridegroom’s gift to tlie bride was a smart handbag, and to tlie bridesmaid an exquisite little necklace.
