AMERICAN POLICY. ON LONDON MARKET. Received October 30, 1.55 p.m. WASHINGTON, Oct. 29. The geld purchases will he made through units to be. set up by an organisation for which the Federal Reserve Bank will act as agents abroad. It is intimated that the first purchases will not be large and that a monetary war with other countries wdl not be invited. It is indicated that the Government will consult the Bank of England and that American buying on the London market will not be objectionable to the British Government. White House declined to explain the ultimative objective of the step. It is their belief that it will lead up to the stabilisation of both the dollar and the pound at a level acceptable to both Governments.
