THE SYDNEY LEVELS. Received September 26, 10.10 a.m. SYDNEY, Sept. 26. The current price of gold in Australia is the highest on record. The prices fixed by the Commonwealth Bank for gold received for the week ended on Friday last were £7 10s 2d per standard ounce and £8 3s lOd per fine ounce. Sovereigns are quoted at 38s 2d and this is also the highest price on record. , LONDON QUOTATIONS. DOLLAR EXCHANGE RATE. Received September 26, 9.25 a.m. LONDON, Sept. 25. Tire price of gold was to-day quoted at £6 12s per ounce. The dollar exchange rate in relation to the £ was 4.72 id.
