WOODVILLE.
WOODVILLE, Sept. 25. Mr Ilcnrv Ruscoe passed away at the residence of his daughter, Mrs Vickers, on Friday. Ho was 85 years of age. Mr Ruscoe came to New Zealand from Chester, England, to follow his profession as an engineer, and settled in Wellington. He was a member of the Loyal Orange Institution. Ho was also a Freemason and was active in the establishment of a number of lodges of the higher degrees around Wellington. At bis request the Worshipful Master and officers of Lodge Run,bine, Woodville, bold a Masonic service prior to the body being removed to Wellington, where on Sunday it was interred with that of his late wife at ICarori cemetery. Two daughters and three sons, sixteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren survive Mr Ruscoe. Saturday’s golf competitions were played in ideal weather, the winners being: Miss E. Peebles (bronze medal round, 95—21 —74) and Miss D. Kirkpatrick (14-bole competition). Mr W. J. Curran, of the railways staff, is on bis annual leave. At the annual meeting of the Woodville Croquet Club hold last week, a motion of sympathy was extended to the relatives of tho late Mrs G. Goldfinch, who had been president of the club for a considerable period. It was decided to place on record her services to the croquet game in Woodville. Mrs Whilelaw was elected president for the ensuing year.
