LATE MR C. W. WILSON.
■■ Mr Charles William Wilson, whose death occurred at Palmerston North, on Friday last, in his 69th year, was well-known in the Rangitikoi and Wanganui districts. His brother, Mr Horace Wilson, of "Rotowhero,” Bulls, died only a few months ago. Mr Charles Wilson lived for the greater part of Lis life at Wanganui, but was well-known as a part-owner ot the Santoft, station, near Bulfs, which was afterwards sold to Mr R, 11. Trotter. He camo to Now Zealand in 1888 and took up duties as a cadet on the farm of Mr Ewen Campbell, of Wanganui. In 1893 he purchased the Siberia Estate at Brunswick, and in addition to this he owned extensive property at Papaiti, up the Wanganui River. The deceased gentleman was widely known some years back as a racehorse owner, owning such horses as Pavlova (Wellington Cup, 1915), Santiago and Miss Pat. Members of sports bodies in Palmerston North, Wanganui, Marton and other parts were present in largo numbers at the funeral of tho late Mr Wilson, which took placo at Clifton Cemetery, Bulls, on Sundav afternoon. Tho vicar of Bulls (Rev. B’ R White) conducted a service at the Anglican Church and also at tho cemetery, and a great number of floral tributes covered the casket. Tho pall-bearers were Dr D Wilson and Messrs M. Campbell, E. Bernau, 11. Cooper, W. Wilson and F. Nancarrow.
