BREAKING OF Aif AXLE. THAMES, Sept. 25. When landing after a flight from Tauranga, Mr A. E. Blaikie’s Hermes Spartan aeroplane met with a slight misha.p. Mr Blaikie was making a good landing, but when the right-hand landing wheel touched the ground the axle broke and the aeroplane bumped along the ground for over 30 yards, damaging the tips of the propeller and the lower wings.
