MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
CLAIM FOR HORSE. Tire hearing was concluded before Mr J. L. Stout, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court to-day, of the case in which P. T. Jamieson, milk vendor, of Palmerston North (Mr J. hi. Gordon', proceeded against G. H. Mallett, far raer, of Kairnnga (Mr A. M. Ongley), claiming £2O for one bay draught mare allegedly purchased by defendant from plaintiff on November 12, 1931. The case was partially heard last week. Evidence was given to-day by Wilhelmina Mary Mallett, the wife of defendant, that Jamieson had consented, at her request, to loan her the horse. It was brought to her place, where it died three days afterwards. There were no negotiations for a sale. Subsequently a debt collector called asking for payment for the horse, but was informed that it was no fault of theirs that it died. Mr Jamieson had been notified two days after its death.
The Magistrate reserved his decision.
