NEW FLIGHT RECORD. Received September 26, 11.55 a.m. NEW YORK, Sept, 25. Colonel Roscoe Turner broke the West to East transcontinental speed record by 13J minutqp, negotiating the distance from Burbank (California) to Floyd Bennett Field (New York) a distance of 2520 miles, in ten hours 51 minutes. Turner flew a 900 horsepower lowwing monoplane, the top speed being 315 miles an hour.
