STOCK TRANSACTIONS.
NEW YORK EXCHANGE. NEW YORK, Sept. 23. The selection of Newark, New Jersey, as the site of the new stock exchange is announced by the New York Stock Exchange as a means of refuge from the high taxes on brokers’ profits and stock transfers proposed by New York City. The new exchange is expected to open on October 2.
