DISPLACE KING GHAI.
FACTIONS SAID TO BE AT WORK. King Feisal’s death was the excuse for a slight anti-Britisli demonstration at Aleppo, and the French authorities are taking precautions against further trouble. Football matches between local teams and the bluejackets from British cruisers visiting Alexandretta were cancelled. The Berne correspondent of the Daily Mail states that rival factions already are working to displace King Ghazi, possibly in favour of Feisal’s brother, ex-King Ali. The first act of tho new regime significantly has been to displace Nuri Paslia, who is reported to bo pro-Bri-tish. It is thought that Britain may be obliged to resume control of Iraq in order to preserve her economic and political interests in the Near East.
