LADIES’ GOLF.
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS. In the finals of the Feilding Ladies’ Golf Club senior and junior championships, played on Saturday morning, Mrs E. E. Short defeated Miss M. Bartholomew in the senior grade on the 18th green, while the junior grade contest between Miss K. Cartliew and Miss Irwin went to the 20th green, where Miss Carthew took the honours. Mrs Short held the junior title in 1922 and again in 1925, and has now annexed premier honours in the senior ranks. The match did not produce outstanding golf, although it was an even game, Sirs Short drawing ahead to win on the 18th by sinking a putt to do the hole in bogey figures. The junior contestants fought out a good battle over 20 holes. They were all-square at the 18th and the 19th was halved, but on the 20tli Miss Carthew’s consistency prevailed, good putting giving her the game.
