BAND CONCERT.
It is not very often that the public of Palmerston North have the pleasure of listening to a programme of music presented by the Salvation Army Band from the rotunda in the Square, and yesterday’s concert came as a treat. Under the direction of Conductor L. York, the band presented the following programme after opening with the National Anthem: —Hymn, “Colne,” march, “Maple Leaf”; . selection, “American Melodies” ; cornet solo, “Long, Long Ago,” Bandsman Taylor; bracket of hymns, “Rockdale” and “Deep Harmony”; selection, “Mighty Faith” ; trombone duet, “Larboard Watch,” Bandsmen Syme and Allison ; march, “Melbourne Temple.” Attracted by the splendid nature of the afternoon, there was quite a large attendance of citizens in the Square gardens and the recital was followed with interest.
