SUMMER SPORTS
PALMERSTON CRICKET CLUB. At the annual meeting of the Palmerston Cricket Club, Mr A. M. Ongley presided over a good attendance. The report (previously published) and the balance-sheet were adopted, the latter showing a small credit balance. In referring to the activities of the past season, the chairman commented upon the excellent performance of the senior eleven in winning the championship after having held a somewhat indifferent position in tho early portion of the season. Tho junior team had also performed creditably and had finished very close to the leaders. The election of officers for the incoming season resulted:—-Patron, Mr C. Louisson; president, Mr W. E. Pegden ; vice-presidents, Messrs G. H. Bennett, W. Broughton, A. Beattie, G. Luoni, G. Greer, A. Wakclin, L. Kerr; captain, Mr W. E. Norris; vicecaptain, Mr N. Leet; committee, Messrs R. Hodren, G. Robertson, A. Dodds, W. Monteitli; secretary, Mr J. C. Pegden; delegates to Manawatu Council, Messrs'A. M. Ongley and W. E. Norris. Several new members were elected.
