FEDERAL TREASURY.
ASSISTANT APPOINTED. MELBOURNE Sept. 22. The Prime Minister, Hon. J. A. Lyons, to-day announced that Mr It. G. Casey, a Victorian representative, has been ' appointed honorary Minister to assist the Federal Treasurer, thereby filling the vacancy due to the retirement of Sir Walter Massy Greene.
