PRODUCING INFIRMITY.
NALL, NEEDLE, AND METAL SWALLOWED. Sentence of 42 days’ detention was promulgated at an Aldershot Courtmartial recently on • Isaac George Henry l’utman, 23, of the 2nd Battalion, The Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Regiment. Ho had pleaded guilty to a charge of producing inh rarity by swallowing a nail, a needle, a button fastener, and a piece of metal. It was alleged that he swallowed those articles while confined at the detention barracks, Aldershot, and as the result was in hospital for nearly two months. Two X-ray photographs were produced at the trial showing the articles inside Putman’s body.
