MANAWATU SPRING SHOW.
The greatest event of the year associated with agricultural and pastoral pursuits will take place at the Showgrounds, Palmerston North, on November 1,2, and 3 next, this being tho 48th Metropolitan Spring Show of the Manawatu and West Coast Agricultural and Pastoral Association. As usual, extensive classes and liberal prizes have boon allocated to all classes of purebred stock and competitive ring events. Special attention has been given to utility classes in tho cattle, sheep and pig sections which havo now become outstanding and instructive features at _ Palmerston North, and have greatly assisted in demonstrating tho right typo of lambs and pigs most suitable for export. Needlework, cookery, modelling, photography, and school exhibits have been specially catered for. Prospective exhibitors are requested to remember tho following closing dates for entries;—Saturday, September 30: Machinery and ground space and all school entries. Saturday, October 7: Needlework, home industries, photography, and model aeroplanes. Thursday, October 19: Competitions, horses, cattle, sheep, pigs, fleece wool and steer riding, and no entry will
be received after that date. Schedules may bo obtained free on application to tho secretary, Mr W. T. Penny, P.O. Box, 85, Palmerston North.
