FEILDING W.E.A.

The close of the W.E.A. session in Feeding for the season was fittingly observed at this week's meeting, supper being served by the lady members at the close of the address given by Mr J. A. Brailsford on Jane Adams. A vote of thanks was accorded the lecturer for his addresses, and also to the chairman, Mr A. J. Humphries, and the secretary, Miss 1. Mayo. The appreciation of the members was also conveyed to those who had extended hospitality to the lecturer and to the ladies for the evening’s supper. Regret was expressed by several members at the withdrawal of the Government financial aid, it being feared that as a result the local W.E.A. might lose the services of Mr Brailsford. Mr Brailsford said he was confident that W.E.A. branches would be able to continue functioning next year in any case with the courses sent out by the university colleges. Mr L. J. Wild voiced his appreciation of Mr Brailsford’s address, describing him as an ideal tutor. The meeting carried a resolution regretting the possibility of losing Mr Brailstord’s services.
