POLICE PRESIDENT’S DISAVOWAL. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) Received September 23, 10.25 a.in. LEIPZIG, Sept. 22. Disavowal of a much-published story that he fired the Reichstag was made on the resumption of the trial by Herr Heines, police president of Breslau, and an erstwhile Storm Trooper. He was in Glei.witz on the night of the fire. The question as to whether Vanderlubbe’s muteness was feigned or was a symptom of insanity led to the early, calling of a specialist, Herr von Hoesser, who testified that the prisoner was healthy, strong, talkative and a ready wit in prison, where he refused food in order to expedite the trial and save the others further suspense. THE LONDON COMMISSION. Received September 23, 2.5 p.m. LONDON, Sept. 23. A Ivingsway Hall meeting decided that a deputation to the German Ambassador ask him to convey the decision of the London Reichstag fire commission. Lady Marlev lias offered to lead the deputation, though the Commissioner ot Police has forbidden it.
