CITY BAND CONCERT.

OPERA HOUSE TO-MORROW NIGHT. It is some time since Palmerston North has been favoured with a Sunday evening concert of the variety to be offered in the Opera House to-morrow night. The effort is being staged by the Palmerston North City Band in an endeavour to meet the needs of members in the matter, of uniforms. The programme decided upon is one of exceptional merit, and patrons can be assured of spending a profitable evening. A number of visiting as well as local artists have been engaged, and the contributions will be such as will cater for all tastes. Mrs Russell Scoular, of Wanganui, who made such a name for herself at the last session of the. Wellington Competitions, will bo heard in several vocal numbers, while Master Jamieson (boy soprano) will also appear. The local performers need no introduction to Palmerston North audiences, while the Harmonica Band of 15 instruments can be assured of a welcome hearing. Undoubtedly the city musicians will bo accorded generous support in this self-help effort. The full programme is advertised elsewhere.
