Answering Indian complaints about the lack of famous names in the M.C.C. team to tour India, the London Daily Herald describes Indian cricketers as the “babes” of international cricket, and says it believes that the English team will prove as hot as the Indians could wish. “Moreover,” the paper adds, “England must consider the Australians’ visit in 1934. It would be inconsiderate of the M.C.C. to expect Hammond, Sutcliffe, Ames, Wyatt, and Paynter, all of whom declined the Indian tour, to play year after year and remain fresh for the all-important Australian matches.”
