A broadcast dance was held at the Oroua Downs hall on Tuesday evening, but owing to the power being cut off through a breakdown at Taikorea none of the dance music from Palmerston North was received. Dancing was carried on in candle light until 10.30 p.m. when the power was restored again, music being played until then by several local people. The dance was then carried on to recorded music.
