(From Our Own Correspondent.) BULLS, Sept. 21. The weather was fine but very . windy on Wednesday when J. S. Tricker and A. K. Drew played the final of the Rangitikei Golf Club championship over 56 holes, but some good golf was witnessed, and although Tricker won, 9 up and 7 to play, Drew stuck to his task gamely and was not disgraced. The winner was 7 up at the conclusion of the morning’s 18 holes, which he did in 80 to Drew’s -87. Tricker equalled this performance in the afternoon, while Drew improved 2 strokes, the round being completed. The win was expected and popular, but the veteran Drew was also congratulated on getting into the final. In the morning play the first two holes were halved in s’s, but a bogey at Prairie put Tricker 1 up. He took 6 at Punchbowl, which Drew won with a bogey 5. The next was halved in s’s, and at Eureka Tricker scored a birdie 2, as against his opponent’s bogey 3. Tricker took 4 at The Drop and Drew squared the game with a 3. All But was Tricker’s hole and the last was halved, Tricker being 1 up at the end of 9 holes. Halving the 10th, Tricker went on to win the next three in line with bogeys. Tricker took the next with a 4. Punchbowl was halved in bogey s’s, and at Plantation Tricker made himself 1 9 up with a bogey 4. Eureka was halved in bogey 3, and Drew took The Drop with another bogey. Tricker got All But with a 4, and the 27th was halved in 4’s, Tricker now being dormy 9. Drew won the 28th with a 5, Tricker being dormy 8. The game finished at the 29th, where Tricker won the hole with a bogey, making him 9 up, with 7 to play.
