CHILDREN’S PARTY.
CENTRAL SCHOOL GATHERING. A most successful party for . the pupils of Standards 1,2 and 3 was held in the assembly hall at the Central School last evening, over 200 children, an'd a number of parents being present. Air E. Bary (headmaster) and members of the staff controlled the games and children’s dances, Airs L. Bristow supplying the music, extras being played by Airs Barkwitli. The Lucky Spot and Alonte Carlo novelties were' most popular with the children, the prize winners being as follow: Lucky spot, \V. Stewart and H. Dear; “musical flops,” Audrey Berry, Winnie Walker, Alate Hosking, Jim Adams, Dorothy Wright, Joan Rush and Dorothy Ryan; Alonte Carlo, Cliff Elliott and Elizabeth Johnson. A dainty supper was handed round by the ladies’ committee and at the eiose of tlie evening ringing cheers were given for the teachers and the ladies’ committee. The children of tlie infant department were entertained at a similar gathering on a Saturday afternoon earlier in the month.
