TENNIS SEASON.
HOKOWHITU CLUB OPENS. Despite rather boisterous conditions, the Hokowhitu Tennis Club held its official opening of the season yesterday afternoon, when there was quite a good muster of players. ’Proceedings were entirely informal. Afternoon tea vva.s served bv the ladies’ committee. The official opening was performed by the president (Mr W.'S. Woodroofe) who congratulated the club on the success it had achieved during the short period of existence and expressed the hope that players -would, experience a good season. He stated that it was hoped to extend the facilities by the provision of another court as soon as funds permitted.
