PRODUCE MARKETING
IMPROVEMENT PLANS ENDORSED. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Sept. 20. Almost unanimous endorsement ol proposals for improving the marketing of New Zealand dairy produce in Great Britain was given by delegates to the conference convened by the New Zealand Dairy Produce Board today. It was made quite clear by the chairman (Mr W. lorns) that there was no intention of eliminating f.o.b. and c.i.f. sales, and with only slight amendments to improve the wording of the various clauses all the proposals which were put forward by the Importers’ Association of Great Britain, and representing the unanimous views of the trade there, were carried. The proposals will come before the board at its meeting on Friday. Very clear evidence was given at the conference that the trade urgently desired to effect improvements in markting, and that there will be a maximum of co-operation with importers and a minimum amount of interference as between factories and their agents. A number of minor matters relating to the advertising of New Zealand dairy produce ill England were also considered, and were referred back to the Dairy Board for a final decision. The conference , will continue tomorrow, and is expected to conclude •in the afternoon, after which all the matters dealt with will be further considered by the Dairy Board at its meeting on Friday. There were present by invitation the chairman and secretary of the National Dairy Association, with Dr. C. J. Reakes, Director-General of Agriculture, Mr W. M. Singleton, Director of 'the Dairy Division, Dr. E. Marsden, Secretary of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, and Professor \V. Riddet (Palmerston North), Director of the Dairy Research Institute.
