ST. JOHN AMBULANCE.
At a meeting of the St. John Ambulance Division, held at the Central Fire Station on Tuesday night, certificates and vouchers were presented to a number of members who had qualified in their first and second years’ activities by the district officer, Mi G. G. Hancox. The following were the recipients:— First year.—Messrs J. McNamara, H. Dailey, C. Turnbull, A. Eaton, R. Frew, W. H. Morgan, C. Weston, R. Howe, A. Harper, R. Wild, R. Lunn, and A. Currie. Second, year.—Corporal R. Hadfield, Privates C. White, R. Calder, J. McSweeny, N. Edgar and S. Nicliolls. In making the presentations, Mr Hancox congratulated the members on the successful outcome of their efforts in their examinations. That the organisation was gaining in strength was apparent by the fact that further eight new members had linked up and it was intended that, as soon as 20 names had been received, another class be formed. The speaker asked'that all who were desirous of associating themselves with the movement get into communication with Superintendent W. H. Barnard or with Sergeant H. Poynter, divisional secretary. It was announced that a church parade would be held at St. Peter’s Church, Terrace End, on October 1.
