AUTHORITIES’ PRECAUTIONS. HUNDREDS OF WITNESSES. Received September 20, 10.35 a.m. BERLIN, Sept. 19. Everything is in readiness for the Reichstag trial of Herr Ernest Torgler. Scores of armed police form a cordon around the building, confining admittance to holders of permits, all of whom will be searched for arms. Only a few Press photographers are permitted. Intrusive aeroplanes will be shot down.

Few seats are available for the trial, which is expected to last three weeks. The last fortnight will be at Berlin. The witnesses number hundreds.
