ATTEMPT ON RECORD,

Received September 18, 11.5 a.m, PARIS, Sept. 17

At the Franco-German meeting at Colombes Stadium, Lovelock, the New Zealander, who made his own race for the half mile failed by three-fifths of a second to break Ladoumeguo’s record of 3.49 1-5 for 1500 metres, attributing his non-success to having nobody to extend him in the last stage. The result of the meeting was Germany 83 points and France 60.
