Sunranes failed to go away and was soon a hundred yards or so behind the others. Lord Leslie was the early leader from Special Sun, Whippet and Rey Spec, and this order was maintained for a mile, at which point Sunranes was almost on terms with Key Spec. The latter then clapped on the pace and, with a round to go, was second to Lord Leslie, with Special Sun and Whippet close up. Lcrd Leslie, on the inner, held the lead until about 100 yards from the post, when lie tangled, leaving Roy Spec with a slight advantage, _ which he maintained to the end, the margin in liis favour being a neck. Special Sun was about two lengths further back third and Whippet fourth. HASTINGS HANDICAP (harness), of 120 sovs; 3.37 class. One mile and a half. 1-1 WAR BUOY, 12yds bhd (M. B.
