WILSON CUP MATCH. WANGANUI BEAT MANAWATU. The Manawatu Golf Club’s foam lodged a strong challenge for the Wilson Cup at Wanganui during the week-end, but were beaten by 6 games to 4, two being halved. The coume was in splendid order, but a strong wind prevailed. The Manawatu player, A. E. Ekstodt, finished on even terms with Wanganui’s Kirk-Windeycr Clip representative, B. Silk, both going round in 76. Ekstodt early established a lead of 2 up, but Silk had squared the match at the 10th. They were again all square at the end of the 12th, and halved the next two in birdie figures. Silk then took the lead, hut Ekstodt beat him with a birdie four at the next, and they halved the remaining holes. Ekstodt was out in 38 to 39, and back in 38 to 37.

L. Seifert, junr., went under to V. B. Haworth, 2 up and 1 to play. Seifert had an early lead, but his opponent was 3 up at the turn after having taken three holes in a row. Seifert was 1 down at the 16th and Haworth finished the match when he won the next after going round in the equivalent of 77.
