(From Our Own Correspondent.) ASHHURSI. Sept. 18. During last week, teams from two outside clubs visited the Ashhurst Ping Pong Club. Friendly matches were played, after which the visitors were entertained at supper and the evening was terminated with a few dances. On Monday evening the Feilding Club, represented by Misses V. Foster, E. Garlick, ’ J. Garlick, and Messrs C. Sims, 0. Eade, L. Sheppard, P. Eade, and It. Sheppard, scored 28 wins, while Misses J. Mitchell, L. Trass, E. Nesdale and Messrs J. Borrett, R. Potts, N. Brewer, A. Boyd and M. Read, of Ashhurst, scored 36 wins. On Thursday evening the visiting club was Aorangi, the players being Misses N. Price, !<’. Price, J. Chectham, B. Grant. L. Griffith and Messrs N. Blaskctt, A. Clifford, N. Rosoman, D Vallance, G. Grant, W. James, T. YVealleans, C. Chcetliam, B. Waugh and D. McFarland, against Misses L. Trass, E. Nesdale, S. Read, J. Mitchell, D. Mitchell, M. Hickey, J. Fenwick, 1.. Peterson, and Messrs J. Borrett, R. Potts, N. Brewer, D. Symonds, M. Read, C. Osborne and L. Hackett, of Ashhurst. The - final

score showed 38 wins for Aorangi and 37 for the local players. Two basketball teams from Central School played a return match against AsliInirst on Saturday morning. The visiting teams, which represented the Grey House, were accompanied by Miss Astlo and Mr Sims. The senior result was Central 6, Ashhurst 5; and the junior, Central 1, Ashhurst, 3. The visitors were entertained to morning tea before returning to Palmerston North.
