TRADE REVIVAL
HEAVY INDUSTRIES INVOLVED
BLAST FURNACES RESUME,
A STEADY DEVELOPMENT.
(United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.)
Received September 11, 10.5 a.m. LONDON, Sept. 10. The revival of activity has now extended to the heavy industries. Sir Arthur Dorman, of Messrs Dorman, Long and Co., declares that the world is starving for steel. Britain has no stocks of any magnitude, therefore Messrs Dorman, Long are rekindling another furnace.
The United Steel Company at Sheffield is re-opening two furnaces with an output of 2000 tons weekly. The Yorkshire Post states that an encouraging feature is the steady character of the development, there being no sudden spurts followed by relapses.
