ROTARY CLUB.
ADDRESS BY MR F. J. NATHAN. Speaking at to-day’s meeting of the Palmerston North Rotary Club Mr F. J. Nathan criticised the lack of knowledge on the part of farmers as to what their exact production costs might be and expressed the opinion that it was not the price for primary produce that was defeating the farmer but high overhead costs. He submitted figures showing the costs in certain instances and urged that farmers should take out their costs in a manner such as a business man would employ so that they would be able to work along the right lines towards the reduction of overhead costs. If they were able to reduce their overhead costs they would be able to employ more men and thus the unemployment position would be eased, lie said.
A report of the address will appear in to-morrow’s “Standard.”
